Apple: A dying market leader??

It’s not hidden from the world that Apple is in trouble. It seems that Tim Cook has changed the strategies of the company. The question here arises whether it is going to work or not?

Steve Jobs throughout his life fought against the “me too” philosophy but now, with the launch of two I-Phones at the same time, Apple seems to be going mainstream. Nokia (or Microsoft) Tweeted sarcastically tweeted “Thanks  #Apple”. Is this a sign for Apple is going in the wrong direction??

The new I-Phone 5S is definitely an improvement but there are only 2 new features that make it better than I-Phone 5: The finger print reader and the 64-bit architecture. The processor had to go up to call it 5S.

Although 5C is a cheap I-Phone, it may not be a success the Asian markets as people prefer to buy a Samsung Android or a Microsoft Nokia than a Plastic Apple iOS(with no Bluetooth transfer facility and a slow processor). One doesn’t only invest in the phone, but also in the music you buy and listen, the books you buy and read and the countless applications and subscriptions you have. Switch brands and you will lose access to this data on another brand.  

Although, a recently published patent filing shows that Apple could be developing a new anti-reflective display for the iPad. Apple would add another process to its display manufacturing, an anti-reflection layer, and a layer of UV absorption film. This could be something Apple is getting ready to implement, or it could just be a process the company is exploring.

Another rumour says, Apple is working on a new Apple TV set top box, and it could arrive as soon as October. It’s possible an updated Apple TV set top box could make an appearance at Apple’s next event, which may be in October.

Let’s see what’s cooking in Mr. Cook’s mind. I am pretty excited about what’s gonna happen next ! ! !

Can Technology Impress The Voters?

Woke up this morning with a phone call from my friend Mahesh who had been waiting in Rajkot to see his favorite leader on beautiful misty morning in Gujrat. He tells me that the party workers have been working round the clock to ensure that crowds are well managed in Ahmadabad because the leader will soon be making a public appearance. He goes on to tell me how they are all working towards revamping how political appearances will be in future and how his favorite leader is the pioneer in this very aspect as well. He goes on to narrate that another party worker is in Vadodra to question the politician about his propaganda and another worker in Surat is also one of the many waiting to meet his idol. 

This phone call had me confused that unless his leader has got himself cloned who does he plan to address crowds in 4 different cities at the same. Never did I think that the Political rallies in the country where internet penetration is yet to be 50 % or we are yet to have 100% electricity coverage areas are now taking technological aide to address crowds to talk about development! Welcome to the technical side of politics (nothing is impossible in 21st century) 

Concept front runner Tech savvy CM of Gujarat, who delivered speech in 53 different locations in a day during Gujarat election. Gone are those days when leader had to visit their constitutional area or had to address public gathering in person to spread their views and opinion. Now they can have a 3D appearance in any part of the country and share their views with just a click.

I wont be surprised if next time around am witness the leader(s) chatting me up about economy, society, development & morality of being an Indian over a cup of tea while being beamed right in my living room!
